Mochas & Javas To Host A Special Birthday Celebration For Clara Bragg

In honor of Clara Bragg’s 3rd Birthday, please join us for an evening of all-inclusive food, beverages, live music, and silent auction. 100% of our donations and collected efforts will go toward the Cure GM1 Foundation and ‘A Cure for Clara’ campaign!

Clara Bragg is the 2½-year-old daughter of Texas State graduates Jenny Habingreither Bragg, from San Marcos, and Ryan Bragg.

Clara is also the niece of Hays County Commissioner Will Conley and his wife, Erin and the granddaughter of former San Marcos Mayor, current Texas State Professor of Engineering Technology and Associate Dean of the College of Science and Engineering, Dr. Robert (Bob) Habingreither and his wife, Melinda Habingreither.

Last August, Clara was diagnosed with GM1 Gangliosidosis, an extremely rare terminal neurological disease that causes children to deteriorate as quickly as they develop.

GM1 can lead to blindness, deafness, seizures, inability to move or self-feed, and is ultimately fatal.

There is, however, hope for Clara. Alabama researchers at Auburn University have successfully cured animals with this disease; now they need funds to take the cure to an FDA- sanctioned human trial.

In honor of Clara’s 3rd birthday, Mocha & Javas is hosting an all-inclusive fundraising event on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at their LBJ location (700 N. LBJ Dr. Ste #100) from 7:00 – 10:00 PM.

This Saturday’s celebration is focused on supporting the Cure GM1 Foundation by raising funds for clinical trials. And their goal is to raise $10,000 for the Cure GM1 Foundation for clinical trials through ticket sales and VIP Sponsorships.

Mochas & Javas has joined the fight and is looking for partners, sponsors and additional support for the “A Cure for Clara” campaign and by supporting this event, you will be giving children like Clara a chance to live, as well as supporting groundbreaking medical history.

This gene therapy is the only case of a fatal genetic disease being cured in the lab. If successful at trial, it could eradicate GM1 from existence and lead to treatments of other childhood diseases.

Please note that the Cure GM1 Foundation is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) and all donations are tax- deductible; sponsors will receive a receipt for their tax records.

• Tickets & Donations may be purchased prior to the event – here – or at the door upon arrival. The tickets are paperless, you will check in under your last name or company title on the purchase or donation. The donation page will remain open until April 14th for your convenience.
