Hays County Burn Ban Lifted

The Hays County Commissioners Court lifted the burn ban on Tuesday with a unanimous vote.

Commissioner Mark Jones recommended residents take advantage of the opportunity to burn what they need to.

Jones said the burn ban could go back into effect at any time if it gets dry enough.

The Hays County Fire EMS reminded residents to follow the Texas Commission of Environmental Quality’s rules for burning such as:

  • Burn during daylight hours
  • Extinguish flame by sunset
  • Must have constant supervision
  • Have method to put out fire on hand
