The bat was tested by the Department of State Health Services and was found to be positive for rabies.

On October 23, 2017, a dead bat was found in the 500 block of Faircrest Dr. in the Bradfield Village Neighborhood at approximately 8:00 pm on the ground. The bat was tested by the Department of State Health Services and was found to be positive for rabies.
