Closures, Detours, Traffic Alerts
for Week of January 20 – 26
I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, as well as the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek.
New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 mainlanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

- Alternating southbound I-35 closures in both directions between SH 71 and Slaughter Ln. | 10 PM until 5 AM Sunday, January 20 through Monday, January 21
- Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Colonial Park Blvd and Williamson Creek | 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, January 21 through Tuesday, January 22
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between the William Cannon Dr exit ramp and Boggy Creek Dr. | 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, January 21 through Friday, January 25
- Northbound I-35 U-turn closed at William Cannon Dr. | 9 AM until 3 PM Monday, January 21 through Friday, January 25
- Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed at William Cannon Dr. | 8 PM until 5 AM Monday, January 21 through Tuesday, January 22
- Southbound I-35 frontage road left land closed at William Cannon Dr. | 9 AM until 3 PM Tuesday, January 22 through Thursday, January 24
- Alternating I-35 frontage road closures in both directions between SH 71 and Slaughter Ln. | 8 PM until 5 AM Tuesday, January 22 through Thursday, January 24
- Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Boggy Creek Dr and William Cannon Dr. | 9 AM until 3 PM Wednesday, January 23 through Friday, January 25
- Westbound William Cannon Dr right turn lane closed at I-35 | 8 PM until 5 AM Sunday, January 20 through Wednesday, January 23
- Eastbound William Cannon Dr left turn lane closed at I-35 | 8 PM until 5 AM Monday, January 21 through Tuesday, January 22

I-35 AT OLTORF ST.
PROJECT OVERVIEW | Improvements include the reconstruction of the Oltorf Street bridge, improving entrance/exit ramps and frontage roads, constructing new extended entrance/exit lanes for mainlanes and ramps, and adding U-turns in both directions at Oltorf Street.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements will also be made along the I-35 frontage roads in each direction within the project limits.

- Southbound I-35 right lane closed at the Riverside Dr entrance ramp | 9 PM until 5 AM Tuesday, January 22 through Wednesday, January 23

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LN. TO US 290 EAST
PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project includes main-lanes and frontage road reconstruction and the addition of three new flyovers at US 183.
The project also includes reconstruction of the St. Johns Avenue Bridge, the addition of frontage road U-turns on both sides, intersection bypass lanes under St. Johns Avenue in both directions, extended entrance/exit lanes, and ramp and shoulder improvements.

- St. Johns Ave reduced to one lane in both directions across I-35 | Until further notice
- Hermitage Dr closed at the northbound I-35 frontage road. Use detour | Closed until Wednesday, January 23

I-35 AT FM 3406
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The intersection of FM 3406 and the I-35 frontage roads are being improved, and the FM 3406 bridge over I-35 is being reconstructed.
The FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd) bridge will close to eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic will detour to the newly constructed U-turn Bridge. | Until summer 2018, weather permitting.

- Various I-35 frontage road closures at FM 3406 | 8 PM until 5 AM Monday, January 21 through Thursday, January 24

I-35 FROM US 79 TO SH 45 NORTH
PROJECT ACTIVITY | New braided ramps (where one ramp crosses over the other) are being constructed along the northbound I-35 mainlanes between Hesters Crossing and RM 620 to eliminate merging conflicts.

I-35 AT COUNTY ROAD 305
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the County Road 305 bridge and realign County Road 304 East to connect to the newly constructed bridge. Pedestrian enhancements will also be made within the project limits.
