San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jason Mock leaving position

San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Jason Mock has been named to the same position with the Greater Dalton (GA) Chamber of Commerce. Mock’s last day with the San Marcos Chamber will be March 11th. He will begin his new role on March 28th.

 

“Working for the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce for over the last five years has been a wonderful experience. I have learned a lot from the opportunities provided to me here and have seen myself grow personally and professionally during my tenure,” Mock said. “I’d like to thank you for the opportunity to be a part of the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce. I wish all the best for you and the Chamber in the future.”

 

Mr. Mock has been with the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce since 2016. Under his leadership, the Chamber has seen it’s membership grow to over 550 members, while continuing to grow it’s influence along the I-35 Corridor.

 

“While it is bittersweet, we are happy for him and grateful for everything he has done,” said Chamber Board Chairman Matthew Worthington. “I think the Chamber has come a long way under his leadership. In the five years that Jason has been in San Marcos, the Chamber has made some big strides, and I think we look completely different than we did five years ago.”

 

The move to Dalton marks a return to Georgia for Mock and his wife, Katie. Mr. Mock served as the Director of Small Business Services for the Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce from 2010-2016, and is a 2006 graduate of West Georgia University.

 

“I am excited about the opportunity to come home to Georgia and be a part of the leadership team at the Greater Dalton Chamber of Commerce,” Mock said.

 

Mr. Mock has been an active participant in his 5+ years in San Marcos, having served on numerous boards of nonprofits, and helped establish programs through the Chamber to further the growth of San Marcos. In 2021, Mr. Mock helped found the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce’s Youth Leadership program, designed to encourage students to participate as leaders in their schools and to continue to promote and enhance the quality of life for themselves and their communities as they further their education and begin their careers.

 

“The Chamber has grown leaps and bounds under Jason’s leadership in both effectiveness and relevancy,” said Chamber Board Chair-Elect Tommy Curtis. “While we are sad to lose him, we are thrilled to see this next chapter in his career and can’t thank him enough for how far he has brought us. The future is very bright for San Marcos, and we look to continue moving the Chamber of Commerce forward with the same passion Mr. Mock brought every day. “

 

The process to fill the President/CEO position at the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce is expected to begin immediately.
