Early Wednesday morning, thieves struck several homes in southwest San Marcos’ Willow Creek subdivision.

Four different residents of Willow Creek reported that three trucks were stripped of their expensive wheels and tires, and a fourth one was left with the lugnuts loosened. Additionally, one of the vehicles had damage to the inside, as the thieves tried to remove the media devices. Residents reported that they believe the timeframe of the thefts were between 3:00 & 4:00 AM, and all of the vehicles were parked in the home’s driveways.

One of the victims was not home and has reported missing valuable items from inside the residence, although there were no visible signs of forced entry.

One of the vehicles with “OnStar,” also lost all four tires and wheels, and the thieves replaced those with another set of tires. Vehicles with “OnStar” systems would have called the owner of this vehicle if the tires were removed for a measurable amount of time.

The San Marcos Police Department advises that all vehicles should be parked inside the garage, if possible. Lock the doors and remove any valuables. Turn on outside lights at night, and adding security cameras if possible.

If you are up late at night, look out the window at your own property and look across the street or next door at your neighbors’ property. If you see any suspicious activity in your neighborhood, please dial 911 immediately.

The Willow Creek HOA is offering a $1000 reward for information leading to the capture and arrest of the individuals responsible for the thefts in their subdivision.
