San Marcos To Host Castle Forest Subdivision Improvements Meeting

The City of San Marcos Engineering and Capital Improvements Department, along with engineering consultants from HDR Engineering, Inc., will host a public meeting regarding Castle Forest Subdivision stormwater drainage conditions at the San Marcos Activity Center, 501 E. Hopkins, at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

The Castle Forest Subdivision channel and adjacent neighborhood experiences flooding and drainage issues during major rainfall events.

This project will evaluate existing drainage conditions, develop recommendations to alleviate local flooding problems and construct drainage improvements.

The project is currently in Phase 1, collecting and analyzing data to develop a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER). Comments from the audience at this meeting will be considered in this report. Completion of the PER is anticipated by the end of this year.

The design phase of the project is scheduled to continue through 2020, with a construction start in fall of 2021.
