Wimberley Resident, Former Commissioner To Run For WISD Board Of Trustees

Last week, Former County Commissioner, Will Conley announced his campaign for Wimberley Independent School District Board of Trustees Place 4, which is currently open.
Conley and his wife were raised in Hays County and have three children in Wimberley ISD.
“My wife, Erin, and I love the Wimberley Valley and cannot imagine a better place to raise our family,” Conley said. “We have invested a great deal of our time and resources in serving this community over the years.”
Conley said he understand in a personal way the needs and demands facing Wimberley schools, teachers and the students and families they served.
“Wimberley ISD is a strong school district, built up over the years through the hard work and dedication of teachers, volunteers, administrators, taxpayers, and elected trustees,” Conley said. “Many years ago, our schools were a major factor in Erin and I choosing to move here and call Wimberley home. I believe it is our responsibility to be faithful stewards of these schools.”
The Wimberley ISD school board is responsible for managing the district’s budget and providing the support that teachers and administrators need.
Conley was appointed by Governor Greg Abbott in May, to the Texas Jobs and Education for Texans Grant Program Advisory Board and has served the community over the years through boards and elected positions including Hays County Commissioners Court and Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization board.
“I am also proud of the thousands of hours that I have spent behind the scenes helping individuals, families and businesses that have certain problems,” Conley said. “My family does our best to give back by contributing to local charities and giving our time to causes in our community.”
Conley said he feels his experience and ability to build consensus will ensure the residents of Wimberley Valley and Wimberley ISD are heard and that the “processes are fair, effective and efficient.”
Conley will be on the ballot in the November Election. Early voting opens Oct. 21 and ends Nov. 1. Election day is Nov. 5.
