The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) invites area residents to attend an open house for the 2019-2022 Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) and the Regional Arterials Study. All open houses are 4-7 pm unless noted below.

Online open houses will also be available at campotexas.org April 2-30, 2018. All comments are due by 5 pm, Monday, April 30, 2018.

The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson Counties.

CAMPO coordinates regional transportation planning with counties, cities, Capital Metropolitan  Transportation Authority, Capital Area Rural Transportation System, Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority, Texas Department of Transportation and other transportation providers in the region.

CAMPO approves the use of federal and state transportation funds within the region. The two main products of CAMPO are the Long-Range Transportation Plan (20+ years) and the short-range program, the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). CAMPO is governed by the Transportation Policy Board, which comprises regional and local officials.

MPOs are designated for all urbanized areas having a population greater than 50,000 as identified by the U.S. Bureau of the Census. MPOs currently operate under the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act.

CAMPO Regional Arterials Study
CAMPO is developing a Regional Arterials Plan to provide Mobility choices that are safe, convenient, reliable and efficient. provide Arterials are roadways that connect to freeways, local streets and destinations.
2019-2022 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)
CAMPO is working with local and regional agencies to develop a Transportation Improvement Program for the area. The 2019-2022 TIP is the four-year program that lists all federal funded transportation projects in the six-county CAMPO region, in addition to tate funded and regionally significant projects.
