Pitcher Nick Fraze Joins Bobcats

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State Baseball announced the signing of Hebron High School pitcher Nick Fraze from Carrollton, Texas. The 6-foot-3 right-handed pitcher plans to major in business at Texas State.

 

Fraze made the Texas High School Baseball Coaches’ Association All-State Team at Hebron while also earning First-Team All-District 6-6A honors on the mound. He led his team to a 28-8 finish and the District 6-6A Championship this season. Individually, Fraze went 9-1 with an ERA of just 1.60 and 94 strikeouts.

Personal: Born Oct. 24, 1997 … Son of Michael and Beth Fraze and Lisa Bassett Fraze … Has an older brother, Jake, and two younger siblings, Megan and Brandon … His brother, Jake, pitched for Mississippi College … Chose Texas State because of the opportunity with the team and the ability to work with the Bobcat coaching staff … Favorite hobbies include fishing and golf.

 

Recruiting Coordinator/Assistant Coach Jeremy Fikac on Fraze: Nick features a two-seam fastball at 88-91 mph and a power slider. We love his length and athleticism on the mound. He is a great find for us, and we look for him to compete for a weekend rotation spot. His numbers from his senior season show he is a competitor and a winner.
