Staff Members Of Elected Official’s Office Involved In Altercation During Political Forum

On February 5, 2020, at 6:00 PM, a political forum was hosted by two local Hays county law enforcement associations at the Wimberley Community Center located at 14068 Ranch Road 12 in Wimberley, Texas.

At the conclusion of the forum, an altercation occurred involving an Austin area television crew and staff members of Hays County Precinct 3 Constable Ray Helm’s office.

The altercation resulted in a minor injury to a person attending the forum.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office initially responded and took the report and gathered statements.

The Sheriff’s Office has reached out to the Texas Rangers this morning requesting them to take over the investigation due to the incident involving an elected official and his staff.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office will not be releasing any information in reference to this incident and will be cooperating with the Texas Rangers.
