The Blanco River Regional Recovery Team (BR3T) Volunteer Committee invites individuals and groups to volunteer for the National Day of Service on September 11 by helping persons affected by storms and floods in the four-county region of Blanco, Caldwell, Guadalupe and Hays Counties. There are a variety of opportunities at all skill levels throughout the area for volunteers to help clean up properties, move debris and rebuild damaged houses. Volunteers are welcome Friday, September 11, Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13.
“We are happy to have volunteers any time,” said Traci Maxwell, BR3T Volunteer Committee Chair, “but with an emphasis on volunteering coming up September 11, 12 and 13, we hope that some will consider helping our Central Texas citizens recover from flood and storm damage. Both individuals and groups are welcome and needed.”
Volunteers age 14 and up are welcome (ages 14-17 must be accompanied by an adult) and should bring their own sunscreen, bug spray, water, gloves and lunch/snacks if they are planning to spend the day. Interested individuals and groups should contact BR3TVolunteers@gmail.com or call 512-715-4134 to sign up or for more information. Details about volunteer opportunities will be posted on www.BR3T.org andwww.facebook.com/BR3TVolunteers soon. Volunteers will receive specific assignments and locations where they are needed closer to their date of volunteering, as projects are frequently updated to meet the most urgent needs.
