The grant will benefit workers in the Rural Capital area which includes the counties of Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Llano and Williamson.

“Texas is fortunate to have CyberDefenses and Rural Capital collaborating to provide workforce training with the assistance of this Texas Industry Partnership grant,” said TWC Commissioner Representing Labor Julian Alvarez. “This partnership reflects the state’s ongoing commitment to employee development and helping Texas workers increase their skill sets, which leads to successful and rewarding careers.

The Texas Industry Partnership program is a $1 million program that allows the local workforce board to apply for funds, leveraged by local industry partners, on the behalf of workforce related project.

Plans for this funding will be used to create occupational job training programs that will improve the skill sets of individuals for jobs in six designated industry clusters: advanced manufacturing, aerospace, biotechnology, information technology, petroleum refining and energy.
