The Hays County Commissioners Court recognized older Americans as “trailblazers paving the way for future generations” as it proclaimed May as Older Americans Month in Hays County. According to the most recent Census estimates, Hays County is home to more than 24,000 persons who are age 60 or older.

“We acknowledge the value of including and supporting older adults so that they successfully contribute to and benefit from their communities,” the Court said in approving the proclamation.
