ALERRT’s Annual Active Shooter Response Conference Returns

The 2017 Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training Conference dates were announced on July 13.
Law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services from around the country will share accounts and best practices of how to handle live shooter incidents.
The three-day event will mark the eighth annual conference for the Texas State ALERRT center.
The conference will be at the Embassy Suits Conference Center in San Marcos, Texas. Vendor slots are still available for interested parties.
While the full schedule has not been released yet, keynote speakers will include Deputy Chief Susan Manney, Orlando, Fl Police Department and Dr. Alex Eastman, Deputy Medical Director of the Dallas Police Department.
The ALERRT Center at Texas State University was created in 2002 as a partnership with local and state law enforcement to address the need for active shooter training for first responders. In 2013, the FBI named the ALERRT Center their standard for active shooter response training.

The conference is scheduled for Nov. 6 thru Nov. 9. Regular registration is open until October 14, and late registration will be open from October 15 to November 6.
