The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) approved $400 million to fund transportation projects in Bastrop, Burnet, Caldwell, Hays, Travis and Williamson counties. CAMPO received 140 applications for projects that totaled $1.5 billion in funding requests.

CAMPO approved transportation projects as part of the 2019-2022 Transportation Improvement Plan. The plan includes expanding Ranch-to-Market Road 620 in Bee Cave and Lakeway, expanding Parmer Lane in Cedar Park, building a new roadway near Interstate 35 and Yarrington Road in Hays County, rebuilding University Boulevard in Round Rock and expanding Slaughter Lane in Austin.

The CAMPO board also approved almost $13 million in transportation development credits. These credits are created as a region spends toll revenues on other transportation projects.

The credits may serve as the local funding match required by most federally-funded projects. The transportation development credits funding will provide local matches for upgrades to New Hope Drive, Brushy Creek, Williams Drive and RM 2243 in Williamson County.

It will also fund a new bus plaza in East Austin for the Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS).
