Hays County Residents Invited To Review, Comment On Proposed FEMA Floodplain Map Revision
After the comment period FEMA will schedule a Consultation Coordination Officer (CCO) meeting with the all of the communities in the county.
Hays County, TX – FEMA has issued its preliminary maps for a proposed Physical Map Revision of floodplains countywide. FEMA will accept comments from the public regarding non-technical issues, such as city limits, road names, and stream names, through May 5.
General comments such as opinions on the maps themselves will not be accepted.
After the comment period FEMA will schedule a Consultation Coordination Officer (CCO) meeting with the all of the communities in the county.
Following the meeting, a 90-day appeal process starts. FEMA will accept scientifically produced technical appeals that show inaccuracies in the map. After the appeal period, FEMA starts the process of preparing the final maps, which will take seven to ten months.
