Alert: Buda Identifies New Rabies Case

Rabies is not a new disease in Texas. In 2014 there were 26 bats that tested positive for rabies that were found in Hays County. 

On Aug. 2, 2017 around 3:30 p.m. a live bat was found outside the educational building at Santa Cruz Catholic Church (1100 N. Main St.) next to the doorbell.

The bat was tested by the Department of State Health Services and was found to be positive for rabies.
