Austin Habitat For Humanity Launches Online ReStore

AUSTIN, TX – Austin Habitat for Humanity announced that it has taken the ReStore online, allowing the community to shop the wide variety of items currently listed for sale from the comfort of their own home.

Similar to the brick-and-mortar locations in Austin and San Marcos, shoppers never know what they’ll find at the ReStore’s online shop, but they can always expect great deals on unique items.

From clothing and shoes to home & garden accessories and more, there are deals to be had on hundreds of new and like-new items. Most of the ReStores’ inventory comes from community donations, and with products arriving daily, each visit is a new adventure.

Austin Habitat for Humanity CEO, Phyllis Snodgrass said, “We are excited to launch our online ReStore because it allows customers to shop, and therefore support our mission, from anywhere at any time.”

With a mission and vision anchored around its dedication to ending the cycle of poverty housing and the deeply-held belief that everyone deserves a decent, affordable place to live, Austin Habitat for Humanity opened the nation’s first ReStore in 1991 and its second ReStore location in San Marcos in 2018. This year, which is also its 35th year of serving the Greater Austin area, Austin Habitat for Humanity created the online location of the ReStore. A benefit to the online ReStore will be that it can reach shoppers at a national level. This will generate more revenue for the creation of affordable homes and divert more items from the landfill. “Our affiliate has had an online presence within eBay and other online sales platforms, but we felt it was time to create something unique and completely our own. ReStore donations and purchases build homes too, so we came up with the online store as a way to expand beyond our two physical stores,” said William Stockton, VP of Retail at Austin Habitat for Humanity.

For the grand opening of www.ShopAustinReStore.com, all items will be 20% off with code ‘GRAND20.’

The Austin Habitat for Humanity ReStores in Austin and San Marcos will also remain open selling hardware and home improvement items from 9 AM to 6 PM Monday through Saturday and 12 PM to 6 PM on Sunday.
