BREAKING: Man Arrested For Attempted Murder By Hays County Sheriff’s Office

On October 21, 2017 at approximately 1:00 a.m., the Hays County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call for an assault at Shadow Creek Subdivision, Buda, Texas.

The female caller reported that her former boyfriend had just left her residence after threatening to kill her. She supplied the actor’s name and vehicle description. The victim reported that the suspect pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at her and pulled the trigger several times but it did not fire. The suspect then fled the residence with the weapon.

A responding deputy sheriff observed a male subject matching the description of the suspect walking in the area and stopped the subject identifying him as Michael Dean Sergeant II, a white male, with date of birth of  4/29/80.

The suspect did not possess the pistol at the time of the detention. A search of the nearby area resulted in the recovery of the weapon which was located in the backyard of one of neighboring homes where children reside.

The suspect was taken into custody and charged with Criminal Attempt Murder, and a bond set at $200,000, a 2nd degree felony, punishable for not more than 20 years or less than 2 years.

Additional charges are anticipated to be filed later this week and include, tampering with physical evidence, Magistration pending; Theft of a Firearm, Magistration pending; Abandon/Endanger a Child, Magistration Pending.
