Bobcat Baseball: Geisler Named to SBC Championship All-Tournament Team
SAN MARCOS – Texas State’s season ends with one more highlight for the Bobcats as Cory Geisler was named to the Sun Belt Conference Championship All-Tournament Team.
After being named to the All-Conference First Team last Tuesday night, the senior from Spring put together an outstanding stretch through the three games the Bobcats played in the SBC Championship Tournament.
He hit .625 with five hits in eight at bats, sending out two homers, racking up four RBIs, five runs and 11 total bases. He slugged 1.375 with an on base percentage of .667, adding a walk to his total.
The story doesn’t end there though as Geisler was also the best pitcher in the tournament against UL Lafayette. He went 7.2 innings with five strikeouts and just one walk. Geisler and the Bobcat defense went through a stretch of 16 consecutive batters retired in their meeting against UL Lafayette. He only gave up three hits through seven and a solitary hit through six innings of work.
