City Of Kyle Hosts Online Street Sign Auction

KYLE, TEXAS – The City of Kyle will be holding an online auction to sell retired City of Kyle street signs that have accumulated over the years, giving all a chance to own a little piece of Kyle this Holiday season.

“These signs come from all over the city back into the hands of the Public Works Department from being retired, from streets being renamed or redone, and rather than sit and gather dust in our warehouse, we’d rather them be offered to the public to own a small piece of Kyle,” Public Works Director Harper Wilder said.

The online auction will open at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 16 and close at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 18.  The auction will be held online at https://bit.ly/kylestreetsigns.

The minimum bid will be $30 for each sign and all revenue raised from the auction will go into the Kyle Style Online Store’s revenue line.

Auction items can be seen online without creating an account, but to place a bid, participants will need to create an account that will ask for credit card information.

Bids can be placed at any time on the website and if bidders are outbid on an item, they will be notified.

When the auction closes, whoever has the highest bid on an item will be charged automatically. Items that require shipping will be charged separately for shipping.

Local pick-up will be on Monday, Dec. 21, and Tuesday, Dec. 22 from 4-6:30 PM or by appointment at Kyle City Hall, 100 W. Center Street. All signs not purchased during the auction will be listed on the Kyle Style Online Store.
