DESCRIPTION: Register for a blood draw prior to the 29th annual CREATION HealthCheck Screening and Health Fair, which will take place on Tuesday, April 28 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Embassy Suites in San Marcos. Hays County’s oldest and largest health fair is known for providing discounted health screenings, but this year’s participants will receive more than $500 in important health tests for a low $30 fee.
The basic screening panel includes:
- Complete Metabolic Panel (screening for glucose, renal and liver disorders)
- Lipid Panel (cholesterol with HDL/LDL breakdown, triglycerides)
- Complete Blood Cell Count (white blood cell,, hemoglobin, hematocrit
Those who participate in a pre-even blood draw will have the opportunity to go over their results with a medical provider at the CREATION HealthCheck event. EVENT: ‘Diabetes Together’ education program for people with diabetes and their care partners

LOCATION: CTMC, 1301 Wonder World Dr., San Marcos
DESCRIPTION: Frank Atherton, who has diabetes, and wife Tina will deliver a free educational program to share about their diabetes journey together.
Frank and Tina are members of the A1C Champions Program, sponsored by Sanofi US, which is a patient-led approach to diabetes education. Although the person who supports someone with a chronic disease is often referred to as a caregiver, it really requires a partnership to face the challenges and successes of the diabetes journey together.
During the 60-minute Diabetes Together presentation, Frank and Tina will share:
- Their story about working together as a team
- Information about diabetes and controlling blood sugar
- Ideas for effective communication between partners
- How to work together to manage diabetes without it becoming the main focus of the relationship

DESCRIPTION: Central Texas Medical Center (CTMC) is pleased to present Fit Family FUN DAY. The event is free, and all are welcome to attend. This CREATION Health event will provide an afternoon of entertainment for the whole family, including a one-mile fitness challenge, children’s activity booths geared toward educating a total wellness lifestyle, music, door prizes, treats and much more.
