BREAKING UPDATE: Shooting Suspect Surrenders

Johnathan Ivan Alonzo Guia surrendered to authorities at the Hays County Government Center at 3:15 p.m. Oct. 6.  He is now in custody at the Hays County Law Enforcement Center. San Marcos police continue the investigation.
BREAKING: San Marcos PD Identify Suspect In Fatal Shooting, Search Continues
San Marcos Police are searching for a suspect in a fatal shooting last week that left one man dead in a drug deal gone wrong.
Johnathan Ivan Alonzo Guia (DOB 07/19/1993 aka: “Nuno” and “Barney”) has an active arrest warrant for murder in connection with a homicide that occurred early Friday, Oct. 2.
Guia has a lengthy criminal history, has violent tendencies and was seen with a handgun during the commission of the homicide.
Another suspect believed to have been the actual shooter, Bryan Martinez (DOB 09/07/1996), was located and arrested early Saturday morning in San Marcos.  A search warrant was executed at an address in Guadalupe County to search for evidence related to the homicide.
San Marcos police officers found Issac Olvera (DOB 12/12/1993) shot in the abdomen at 2:29 a.m. Friday when they responded to a reported shooting at a residence on the 1300 block of Thorpe Lane.
Officers administered first aid until EMS arrived a short time later. Olvera’s condition worsened while en route to University Medical Center-Brackenridge hospital, and he was instead transported to Seton-Kyle where he died of his injuries.
Multiple witnesses on scene report that a narcotics deal was taking place at the time of the shooting. Three individuals, including the shooter, fled the scene.
