SAN MARCOS, Texas – For the first time in program history the Texas State soccer team had a player selected to a United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America Team with Kaylee Davis being named to the third team.

Davis is a food and nutrition major with a 3.59 GPA. She has twice been named to the Texas State Dean’s List after transferring in from Sam Houston State. On Monday, she became just the second Bobcat to be named to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-West Second Team.

On the pitch this season, she tallied a program record tying 18 goals that led the Sun Belt Conference and tied for the third most in NCAA Division I. Her performance on the field led to her being named both the Sun Belt’s Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year while also earning first team all-conference honors for the second straight season.

The junior forward also set a Bobcat season record with seven matching-winning goals, tied for the third most in the nation, and tied the single-season mark after placing 40 shots on goal. She also recorded 37 points, seventh most in the nation, and 86 shot attempts, both ranking second in TXST history.

During the season, Davis set a Sun Belt record by being selected as the conference’s Offensive Player of the Week four times. She ended the season by finding the back of the net in 12 of the team’s final 14 matches. During that span, the junior totaled 16 goals with four braces, netted the match-winner six times and led Texas State to its first-ever Sun Belt regular season championship and the finals of the conference tournament.

The Allen, Texas native wrapped up her junior campaign with 25 career goals in a Bobcat uniform, the fifth most in program history. For her TXST career, she has 53 points (5th), nine match-winning goals (T-5th) and 135 shots (8th) that all rank in the program’s career top 10.
