183 South scheduled road construction, closures, detours for week of May 10

Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

LANE CLOSURE — 5/6/21 to 5/9/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Thursday-Saturday (5/6-5/8) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 southbound two mainlanes will be closed from Patton to SH 71.

RAMP CLOSURE — 5/9/21 to 5/10/21 — PAVING
Thursday (5/6) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday (5/9) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Southbound Airport Blvd. will be closed at US 183. Detour via 7th St. ramp to US 183 southbound.

RAMP CLOSURE — 5/9/21 to 5/11/21 — PAVING
Sunday (5/9) 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Monday (5/10) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Access to US 183 will be closed from 7th St, 1st St, and Cesar Chavez eastbound. Detour via Levander Loop to US 183 southbound.

LANE CLOSURE — 5/10/21 to 5/14/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Friday (5/10-5/14) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 right frontage lane in both directions will be closed from 51st to Manor Springdale.

LANE CLOSURE — 5/10/21 to 5/14/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Friday (5/10-5/14) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Loyola eastbound right lane will be closed at US 183.

LANE CLOSURE — 5/10/21 to 5/11/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Monday-Tuesday (5/10-5/11) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 southbound right mainlane from Hudson St. to Thurgood Ave.

LANE CLOSURE — 5/10/21 to 5/14/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Friday (5/10-5/14) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 northbound left frontage lane will be closed from Bolm Rd. to Smith Rd.

ROAD CLOSURE — 5/10/21 to 5/12/21 — PAVING
Monday-Tuesday (5/10-11) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Old Bastrop Hwy. northbound will be closed at US 183.

LANE CLOSURE — 5/10/21 to 5/12/21 — PAVING
Friday (5/7) 8 p.m. to 10 a.m., Saturday (5/8) 6 p.m. to 10 a.m., Mon-Tues (5/10-5/11) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., US 183 northbound mainlane will be reduced to one lane from 51st to US 290.

ROAD CLOSURE — 5/10/21 to 5/15/21 — PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Monday-Friday (5/10-5/14) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Northbound US 183 mainlane will be closed at Thompson Ln. Detour via the exit to Montopolis to on-ramp at Central to access toll road.

RAMP CLOSURE — 5/10/21 to 5/11/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday (5/10) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., southbound US 183 to eastbound SH 71 be closed at SH 71. Detour via E. Riverside Dr. U-turn.

RAMP CLOSURE — 5/11/21 to 5/13/21 — PAVING
Tuesday-Wednesday (5/11-5/12) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., northbound US 183 exit ramp to eastbound SH 71 towards Austin airport will be closed. Detour westbound SH 71 exit Riverside Dr, then U-turn to access eastbound SH 71. North US 183 mainlanes reduced to one lane E. Riverside Dr. to SH 71.

LANE CLOSURE — 5/11/21 to 5/14/21 — PAVING
Tuesday-Thursday (5/11-5/13) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., westbound SH 71 mainlane will be reduced to one lane from Brandt Dr. to US 183.

RAMP CLOSURE — 5/11/21 to 5/14/21 — PAVING
Tuesday-Thursday (5/11-5/13) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Westbound SH 71 to northbound US 183 will be closed at SH 71. Detour via E. Riverside Dr. U-turn to southbound US 183.

RAMP CLOSURE — 5/11/21 to 5/14/21 — PAVING
Tuesday-Thursday (5/11-5/13) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Northbound US 183 to Westbound SH 71 cloverleaf will be closed at US 183. Detour via Montopolis Dr. U-turn to south US 183 to SH 71.

LANE CLOSURE — 5/13/21 to 5/15/21 — PAVING
Thursday (5/13) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Friday (5/14) 8 p.m. to 10 a.m., westbound SH 71 mainlane will be reduced to one lane from US 183 to E. Riverside Dr.
