Donation Account Set Up For SMPD Officer Struck By Vehicle Monday

Staff Reports

A donation account has been launched for a local police officer, who was recently involved in an accident.

Officer Paul Beller with the San Marcos Police Department was struck by a vehicle on I-35 while exiting his patrol car earlier this week.

SMPD said in response to numerous requests, a donation account has been set up for Officer Beller as he faces an extensive recovery; department staff will see that 100% of residents’ contributions go toward supporting Officer Beller during this difficult time.

The full extent of officer Beller’s injuries has not been released. However, officials did report Tuesday he was out of surgery and on the road to recovery.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the accident.

People can donate to Beller’s account here. The account is provided through the San Marcos Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association.
