Ghoulish Guests Welcome To Farmer Fred’s Harvest Fall Carnival

Farmer Fred’s Harvest Fall Carnival is right around the corner! The City of San Marcos-Parks and Recreation Department invites the community and visitors to join the spooky fun on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Plaza Park, 201 N. CM Allen Pkwy.

 

This family-friendly event has taken place in various locations over the past few decades, and this year it will take a short detour across the river to Plaza Park. While a few attractions – including the Haunted Hayride – will remain on the City Park side of the river, the bulk of the event will take place in the newly renovated Plaza Park while City Park undergoes a similar revamping.

 

With the help of local sponsors, new and returning volunteers, and various organizations, this event is free to the public. The spooktacular night includes carnival games, arts and crafts, and additional family activities available for all ages to enjoy. For your viewing pleasure, seasonal cartoon episodes will be rolling throughout the event on the outdoor movie screen. A concession stand selling popcorn, hot dogs, drinks and other items will be provided by Texas State’s Association of Recreation Enthusiasts. A haunted hayride and a barrel train ride will also be offered for a minimal cost.

 

Come dressed in a prize-winning costume and enter the Children’s Costume Contest. Children infant to 12 years old can register for the costume contest from 6 – 6:45 p.m. at the large stage at Plaza Park. This contest is grouped by age and first, second, and third places will be awarded. The age groups and times are:
