Hays CISD Invites Community To ‘Shape Our Future’
Hays Consolidated Independent School District is celebrating 50 years of educational excellence by inviting the community to have a voice in shaping the district’s future. The district is launching a strategic design process that will create a long-term strategic direction for Hays CISD.

During these summits, citizens will have the opportunity to hear more about the strategic design process, as well as share their highest hopes and aspirations for their children. In an effort to develop a long-term strategic direction, Hays CISD encourages all community members to attend at least one summit.
After the summits, a series of focus groups will be held to gather additional input. The district will hold focus groups for students, parents, community members and staff. This will allow stakeholder groups to have a deeper dialogue on what they desire most from its public schools.
Additionally, all stakeholders will have an opportunity to participate in a survey, which will provide key data in developing Hays CISD goals.
Information, feedback and input gathered at the summits, focus groups and the survey will be used by a strategic design team comprised of citizens who will create a community inspired strategic direction that will include a set of community beliefs about learning, a call to action, goals and action steps. Additionally, it will allow Hays CISD to measure student learning and serve as a guide for the district as it makes future decisions regarding instruction, budgeting, staffing and facility planning.
As the district embarks on this process, all summits, documents and resources will be posted online at www.hayscisd.net/theplan for community members to stay informed.
