Texas State UPD Seeks Suspicious Individual Who Ranted About 9/11

Last Friday, June 23, Texas State University Police responded to a suspicious person report at McCoy Hall in San Marcos.

Last Friday, June 23, Texas State University Police responded to a suspicious person report at McCoy Hall in San Marcos.

Officers were told an unknown suspicious individual entered and began ranting about the 9-11 terrorist attack.

 According to witnesses from the class, the individual is male and mentioned, specifically, University President Denise Trauth. The suspicious individual allegedly stated Trauth should make a statement on the 9/11 attack.

Witnesses said the suspicious subject then reached into his backpack, which caused the class to flee the room in fear.

By the time UPD arrived, the suspect was no longer there. Witnesses described the man as a white male with dark curly hair and wearing a blue shirt, khaki pants and a black backpack.

San Marcos Police Department and UPD officers checked the McCoy building and searched the surrounding areas on and off campus. The suspicious individual was not located.
