Hays County Accepting Applications For The 2017 Advanced Citizens Sheriff’s Academy

The academy is designed to give those who had already gone through the Basic Citizens Academy Course more knowledge about Hays County law enforcement operations and current issues.

Sheriff Gary Cutler is proud to announce that the Hays County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications to the Advanced Citizens Sheriff’s Academy Course.

The academy starts on September 28, 2017, and will conclude on November 9, 2017.

The academy is designed to give those who had already gone through the Basic Citizens Academy Course more knowledge about Hays County law enforcement operations and current issues. Applicants must currently live or work in Hays County.

Participants attending the academy will have open discussions with presenters.

Presentations will include information from the Medical Examiner’s Office, Constable’s Office, Justice of the Peace, and Sheriff’s Office personnel. Topics will include: Gang Activity, Auto Theft Investigations, Crimes against Children, Sex Crimes, Cyber Crimes and Fraud Investigations, Death Scene Investigations, and Active Shooter Response for Civilians.
