Hays County Sheriff’s Office Promotes And Honors Employees

Sheriff Cutler extended his deepest appreciation to all those who received promotions and awards and to his entire staff for the outstanding work that they do on a daily basis.

On December 14, 2017, Hays County Sheriff Gary Cutler had the honor of recognizing and promoting several deputies at a special awards ceremony held at the Hays County Government Center.

The following employees were promoted by Sheriff Cutler to patrol deputies:

Deputy Preston Dodson, Deputy Adam Halstead, Deputy Nathaniel Sitsler, Deputy Eric Zediker, Deputy Juan Zesati and Deputy Jeffery McKinney.

Corporal Clint Pulpan was promoted to law enforcement sergeant. Sheriff Cutler presented agency awards to the following employees:

The Unit Citation was awarded to the following staff for their humanitarian deployment to Port Aransas after Hurricane Harvey: Lt Dennis Gutierrez , Sgt Jon Craigmile, Deputies Mark Andrews, Daniel Duggins, David Gamble, Robert Nguyen, Tanner Timmons, John Trinidad, Corrections Officer Bobby Ramirez and 911 Dispatcher Carri Turner

 

The Sheriff’s Commendation Citation was awarded to 911 Dispatcher Courtney Booth, Sgt Ken Carpenter, Deputy Chase Crow, Deputy Paul Garza and 911 Dispatch Supervisor Chad Power for their outstanding contributions to the community under varied circumstances.

Sheriff Cutler awarded the following staff members the Life Saving Medal: Deputy Jessica Barkley, Deputy Robert Blanchard, Deputy Shaun Booth, Sgt Jon Craigmile, Deputy David Marshall, Deputy David Martinez, Deputy Adam McLeod, Deputy Alfredo Munoz, Deputy Gerald Raines, Deputy Stephen Traeger and Deputy Daisy Trevino. Each recipient was involved in varied incidents in which their actions saved the life of a person who was injured or in a medical crisis.

Deputy Shaun Booth received the Purple Heart Medal for injuries he received after being hit by a car while on a collision scene on US 290 W in Dripping Springs.

 

Deputy Robert Nguyen received the Meritorious Service Medal for actions that placed Nguyen’s life in jeopardy by rescuing a female gunshot victim in the line of fire of an armed domestic violence suspect from receiving further harm.
