Alex Ruiz:

Since first taking the stage in over ten years ago with Austin’s renowned Latin-rock group Del Castillo, lead singer Alex Ruiz has stirred and swooned fans worldwide with his dynamic stage presence, fearless vocal range, and heartfelt, passionate songwriting.

Drawing primarily from blues, roots, and rock influences, Ruiz has recently incorporated more flamenco and traditional Spanish material into his original music after finding inspiration during European tours with Del Castillo, and his work has led to collaborations with artists such as Willie Nelson, Carlos Santana, and Los Lonely Boys.

With Del Castillo no longer active, Ruiz has kept busy performing with his own group, the Night Mothers, as well as Chingon, a group formed by filmmaker Robert Rodriguez.

Local organizations have been invited to host interactive booths to educate San Marcos residents and visitors of all ages. Come help celebrate Earth Day at our pre Earth Day party and learn about ways to keep our planet beautiful.
