Hays County Officials Urge Residents To Join In The Fun For National Night Out

Hays County plays a vital role along with the Hays County law enforcement in crime prevention and is supporting National Night Out themes of police-community partnerships and crime prevention initiatives.

Hays County Courthouse, San Marcos, TX – The Hays County Commissioners Court has proclaimed October 3 as National Night Out 2017 and invites all residents to participate in a National Night Out even in their neighborhood. Hays County Sheriff’s Office and Constable Office deputies, along with senior staff, will be making the rounds to meet neighbors and discuss safety concerns.

According to the proclamation, annual National Night Out provides a unique opportunity for Hays County to join forces with thousands of other communities across the State of Texas in promoting cooperative community crime prevention efforts.

Hays County plays a vital role along with the Hays County law enforcement in crime prevention and is supporting National Night Out themes of police-community partnerships and crime prevention initiatives.

Sheriff Gary Cutler told the Court that National Night Out is “that one night a year we get to interact with the citizens we serve 24/7.” He said he knew of at least 50 neighborhoods in the unincorporated areas of the County that plan National Night Out events, and he encouraged parents to come and bring their children.
