Aggravated Robbery Suspects Cause I35 Southbound To Shutdown Between Kyle & San Marcos

This afternoon three individuals, two females and one male, were at Walmart in Kyle and were caught shoplifting. The loss prevention staff attempted to take one of the females into custody.

The male threatened the loss prevention staff with a knife; all three suspects left Walmart heading south on I-35 and were pursued by Kyle PD officers.

According to the Kyle Police Department, a “low-speed pursuit happened I-35 southbound,” however, this incident was treated as a high-risk stop; officers closed down the highway to traffic as a precaution.

During the pursuit, the suspects tried to throw items out the window, and the vehicle proceeded to come to a stop in San Marcos.

All three individuals were arrested and are being booked into Hays County Jail on the following charges:

  • Aggravated robbery
  • Engaged organized criminal activity
  • Tampering with evidence (tried to toss items out of the car)
  • Evading with a vehicle

The suspects have been identified as:

  • Kimberly Nace, 43, Driver – SAN MARCOS
  • Gilbert Gonzales, 36, Front passenger – NEW BRAUNFELS
  • Michelle Aragon, 36, Back passenger – SAN MARCOS
