Warrant Roundup Amnesty Period Extended To Monday

The City of San Marcos is extending the Warrant Roundup amnesty period through Monday, March 9, 2015 because of a weather-related closure and technology issues that disrupted Municipal Court operations this week.

This extension only applies to cases filed with the San Marcos Municipal Court. All other jurisdictions’ amnesty periods for this year’s State of Texas Warrant Roundup end Friday, March 6, 2015.

Defendants with outstanding cases with the court are urged to contact the San Marcos Municipal Court immediately to avoid arrest.

“Warrants don’t go away unless you take steps to address them,” said Deputy Marshal Tracy Balusek. “If you have a warrant, contact the San Marcos Municipal Court to make arrangements for payment.”

The San Marcos Municipal Court of Record web site has a list of people with active warrants and a list of people who have unresolved cases needing immediate attention. To view lists visit www.sanmarcostx.gov/court

Additionally, the Law Firm of Perdue, Brandon, Fielder, Collins & Mott LLP has been contracted with to assist with collections. All law firm contacts will direct defendants to the court for payments.

The Municipal Court accepts cash, checks, money orders, cashier’s checks, Visa, Master Card, and Discover. Individuals may make credit card payments directly to the court by phone during regular court hours, or 24/7 when paying in full online at www.sanmarcostx.gov/court (Please make note of the court bureau code# 3290449 for online payments.)

Those who mail in payments should include their driver’s license number and case or ticket number to ensure proper credit. Payments may be mailed to Municipal Court, City of San Marcos, 712 S. Stagecoach Trail, San Marcos, TX 78666.
