Hays County Sets Meeting On Lime Kiln Road Bridges

Hays County Courthouse, San Marcos, TX – Hays County will hold a public meeting August 20 to update residents about the construction timeline for improvements to two water crossings on Lime Kiln Road. The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Promiseland Church, 1650 Lime Kiln Road, San Marcos.

Voters approved road bonds in 2016 for Lime Kiln Road safety measures that will provide a bridge over a low-water crossing at the San Marcos River-Sink Creek juncture near Travis Elementary School and improve the culvert structure at a second low-water crossing over Sink Creek.

“We’ve had to close both of these crossings for lengthy amounts of time due to frequent flooding and we’re eager to make these changes to improve safety and mobility for residents in the area,” Precinct 4 Commissioner Walt Smith said.

Following opening comments from Commissioner Smith, representatives from the design engineering firm of K Friese + Associates will give a brief presentation on the construction timetable. Displays of the project will be available, with officials standing by to answer questions.
