Closures, Detours, Traffic Alerts
for Week of May 25 – May 31
I-35 AT POSEY ROAD
PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project will construct a new overpass on I-35 over Posey Road, add two new U-turns in each direction at Posey Road, perform ramp reversals and convert two-way frontage roads to one-way.
Currently, the I-35 mainlanes go under Posey Road. The new configuration will have the I-35 mainlanes going over Posey Road.

- Alternating northbound I-35 closures between York Creek Road and Centerpoint Road. | Thursday, May 30 from 9 PM until 5 AM
- North and southbound I-35 left lane closed nightly between York Creek Road and Centerpoint Road. | Tuesday, May 28 through Friday, May 31 from 9 PM until 5 AM

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, as well as the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek.
New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 mainlanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

- Watch for flaggers daily on southbound I-35 frontage road between William Cannon Drive and Chaparral Road. | Wednesday, May 29 through Friday, May 31 from 9 AM until 3 PM
- Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed daily at Stassney Lane. | Tuesday, May 28 through Friday, May 31 from 9 AM until 3 PM
- Southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane between William Cannon Drive and Foremost Drive. | Through Friday, June 7

I-35 AT OLTORF ST.
PROJECT OVERVIEW | Improvements include the reconstruction of the Oltorf Street bridge, improving entrance/exit ramps and frontage roads.
Additionally, construction of new extended entrance/exit lanes for mainlanes and ramps, and adding U-turns in both directions at Oltorf Street.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements will also be made along the I-35 frontage roads in each direction within the project limits.

- Various northbound I-35 closures nightly between Woodward Street and Oltorf Street. Exit #232 and following entrance ramp will also be closed. | Tuesday, May 28 through Thursday, May 30 from 9 PM until 5 AM

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LN. TO US 290 EAST
PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project includes main-lanes and frontage road reconstruction and the addition of three new flyovers at US 183.
The project also includes reconstruction of the St. Johns Avenue Bridge, the addition of frontage road U-turns on both sides, intersection bypass lanes under St. Johns Avenue in both directions, extended entrance/exit lanes, and ramp and shoulder improvements.

- Expect delays and closures on north and southbound I-35 between Rundberg Lane and US 290 East. | Friday, May 31 at 9 PM through Monday, June 3 at 5 AM
- The St. Johns Avenue bridge over I-35 will close. Detour to US 290 East or US 183. Pedestrian access will remain. | Thursday, May 30 through late summer 2019
- Southbound I-35 frontage road closed between Wonsley Drive and US 183. | Tuesday, May 28 from 10 PM until 5 AM
- Alternating north and southbound I-35 closures nightly between US 183 and Rundberg Lane. Exit #241 will also be closed. | Tuesday, May 28 through Friday, May 31 from 9 PM until 5 AM
- North and southbound I-35 left lane closed nightly between US 290 East and US 183. The center lane will also be closed as needed. | Tuesday, May 28 through Friday, May 31 from 9 PM until 5 AM
- South to northbound I-35 U-turn closed at US 183. | Through Friday, June 7
- Powell Lane closed at I-35. | Until further notice

I-35 AT FM 3406
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The intersection of FM 3406 and the I-35 frontage roads are being improved, and the FM 3406 bridge over I-35 is being reconstructed.
The FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd) bridge will close to eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic will detour to the newly constructed U-turn Bridge.

I-35 FROM US 79 TO SH 45 NORTH
PROJECT ACTIVITY | New braided ramps (where one ramp crosses over the other) are being constructed along the northbound I-35 mainlanes between Hesters Crossing and RM 620 to eliminate merging conflicts.

- Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly between SH 45 North and US 79. The Hesters Crossing entrance ramp and exit #252 will also be closed. | Tuesday, May 28 through Friday, May 31 from 9 PM until 5 AM

I-35 AT COUNTY ROAD 305
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the County Road 305 bridge and realign County Road 304 East to connect to the newly constructed bridge. Pedestrian enhancements will also be made within the project limits.
