Hays County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Suspect In Buda Vehicle Burglaries

On Sunday, July 26, 2020, approximately 5:48 AM, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a male person burglarizing vehicles at an apartment complex in the 5000 block of Overpass Rd. in Buda, TX.

The complainant witnessed a person checking car doors and entering the vehicles left unlocked.

A description of the suspect was provided to arriving Hays County Deputies who were able to locate and identify the person responsible as:

Andrew Damien Juarez W/M DOB: 07/03/2002

Juarez was arrested and booked into the Hays County Jail for the offense of Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Hays County detectives are still investigating additional burglaries and additional charges are pending. Juarez currently awaits magistration.

Hays County Sheriff Gary Cutler wishes to thank the complainant for reporting what they saw, and the patrol supervisor and responding deputies for their swift response and great police work in locating Juarez before he could flee.

All of these burglaries were committed on unlocked vehicles. Sheriff Cutler wants to remind the public of the importance of remaining vigilant and observant and to remove all valuables from their vehicles and lock them at all times.
