183 South scheduled road construction, closures, detours for week of September 27

Austin — Short and long-term lane, road closures, and detours that may impact drivers along US 183 and adjacent roadways in east Austin.

Below is an overview of the 183 South project’s lane, road, and ramp closures. Work continues along US 183, including bridge construction, roadway installation, sound wall work, utility work.

The Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority is an independent government agency created in 2002 to improve the transportation system in Williamson and Travis counties.

The Mobility Authority is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Governor appoints the Chairman, and the Travis and Williamson counties Commissioners Courts each appoint three members to serve on the Board.

Short Term

ROAD CLOSURE — 9/17/21 to 10/1/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
CONTINUOUS CLOSURE: Wednesday (9/1) 6 p.m. until Friday (10/1) 6 p.m., Eastbound 7th St. will be closed at US 183. Detour to Airport Blvd. southbound entry ramp via Levander Loop.

LANE CLOSURE — 9/27/21 to 9/28/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Tuesday (9/27-9.28) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., 183 Toll in both directions the left lane will be closed from Bolm to Interchange Blvd.

LANE CLOSURE — 9/27/21 to 9/30/21 — GUARDRAIL WORK
Monday-Thursday (9/27-9/30) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., US 183 in both directions the right general-purpose lane will be closed from Interchange Blvd. to Techni Center Dr.

RAMP CLOSURE — 9/27/21 to 9/30/21 — BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION
Monday-Thursday (9/27-9/30) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., U-turn(s) at MLK Jr. Blvd. will be closed, not concurrently.

LANE CLOSURE — 9/27/21 to 9/30/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Monday-Wednesday (9/27-9/29) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Southbound 183 Toll will be reduced to one lane from Thompson to SH 71

LANE CLOSURE — 9/27/21 to 9/30/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Monday-Wednesday (9/27-9/29) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Southbound 183 Toll will be reduced to one lane from Thompson to SH 71

RAMP CLOSURE — 9/27/21 to 9/29/21 — ROADWAY STRIPING
Monday-Tuesday (9/27-9/28) 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Eastbound SH 71 left main lane and East SH 71 to North 183 Toll connector will be closed at E. Riverside Dr.
