TxDOT, My I35 and Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority’s Weekly I35 Corridor Traffic and Road Construction Update.

While construction is tough on everyone, TxDOT is trying to do
everything they can to minimize disruptions.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | Two ramps on the southbound I-35 frontage roads between RM 1431 and FM 3406 are being reconstructed and reversed to address traffic congestion and improve I-35 frontage road and mainlane operations.

Closures are weather permitting
- Southbound I-35 exit ramp to FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd) closed. Use the southbound RM 1431 exit ramp and utilize the bypass lane to reach FM 3406. | Until March 2018, weather permitting.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | New braided ramps (where one ramp crosses over the other) are being constructed along the northbound I-35 mainlanes between Hester’s Crossing and RM 620 to eliminate merging conflicts.
The northbound and southbound intersections of US 79 and the I-35 frontage roads are also being reconstructed to add a third left-turn for westbound US 79.

Closures are weather permitting
- Various closures in both directions of the I-35 between RM 620 & Westinghouse Rd. Will be reduced to one lane at times. Ramps will close as needed. | Nightly from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, January 7 through Thursday, January 11.
- Various closures in both directions of the I-35 frontage roads at US 79. | Nightly from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, January 8 through Thursday, January 11.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | The intersection of FM 3406 and the I-35 frontage roads are being improved, and the FM 3406 bridge over I-35 is being reconstructed.
• THIS WEEK’S PROJECT TRAFFIC ADVISORY •
Closures are weather permitting
- The FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd) bridge closed to eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic will detour to the newly constructed U-turn bridge. | Until summer 2018, weather permitting.
- Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane under FM 3406. | Nightly from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, January 7 through Thursday, January 11.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, as well as the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek.
New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 mainlanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

- Alternating closures I-35 frontage roads in both directions over Williamson Creek. | From 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday, January 6.
- Various closures northbound I-35 frontage road at William Cannon Dr. | 8 p.m. Sunday, January 7 to 5 a.m. Monday, January 8.
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed at Slaughter Ln. | Nightly from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, January 7 through Wednesday, January 10.
- Reduced to one southbound lane under Stassney Ln. The entrance ramp at Stassney will also close. | Nightly from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Sunday, January 7 through Wednesday, January 10.
- Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Slaughter Ln & William Cannon Dr. | Daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, January 8 through Friday, January 12.
- I-35 reduced to one lane in each direction at Stassney Ln. Ramps will also close. | From 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Wednesday, January 10 & Thursday, January 11.
- Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane under Stassney Ln. The northbound entrance ramp from William Cannon Dr will also close. | 9 p.m. Thursday, January 11 to 5 a.m. Friday, January 12.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | Improvements include the reconstruction of the Oltorf Street bridge, improving entrance/exit ramps and frontage roads, constructing new extended entrance/exit lanes for mainlanes and ramps, and adding U-turns in both directions at Oltorf Street.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements will also be made along the I-35 frontage roads in each direction within the project limits.

Closures are weather permitting
- I-35 frontage roads right lane closed in both directions as needed with flaggers between Oltorf St & Woodward St. | Daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, January 8 through Friday, January 12.
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed at Royal Hill Dr. The northbound exit to Oltorf St will also close. | Nightly from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, January 8 through Wednesday, January 10.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | Work includes adding a southbound intersection bypass lane to allow through-traffic to bypass the traffic signal, re-configuring the entrance/exit ramps, and realigning the southbound frontage road to add a new roundabout that improves traffic flow and safety.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements will also be made within the project limits.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project includes mainlane and frontage road reconstruction and the addition of three new direct connectors, or flyovers, at US 183.
The project, which improves connectivity between I-35 and US 183, also includes reconstruction of the St. Johns Avenue bridge.
With addition of frontage road U-turns on both sides, collector-distributor roads–or intersection bypass lanes–under St. Johns Avenue in both directions, auxiliary lanes–or extended entrance/exit lanes–and ramp and shoulder improvements.
