TONIGHT: Local Support For Hays County, San Marcos Law Enforcement

I don’t know about any of you, but watching the national news recently has just made me sick to my stomach. What are people thinking while they are chanting those horrible words against law enforcement?
Every career path each of us takes has its difficulties, and maybe a little danger that comes along with it. But, can you actually say that every moment of everyday, that when you are at work, or off and happen to run into the grocery store, that because of your chosen career your life is in danger?
All forms of law enforcement in this great country put not only their own lives in danger, but their families as well, every single moment of every single day they are in danger. And yes, I am also talking about our military and our veterans.
Has life changed so much since we were kids, that parents now don’t raise their children to have respect for these uniform wearing hero’s?
Why do some believe their lives matter more than others do? Or is it they just feel so entitled anymore, that they matter more than others?
As someone, I know and love tells me, “If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything.”
Below is an email I received this weekend, and I think it is a great thing that the positive side of this movement will be happening in San Marcos this evening.
Thank you Charlotte and Charles for standing for something.
When: Tuesday, Sept. 8, 6-7 p.m.
Where: Hays County Courthouse, downtown on Hopkins Street, San Marcos
What: We support our law enforcement officers.
Bring your own signs. This whole demonstration is to be positive, orderly, and quiet. It will be counter to the negative and noisy demonstrations against law enforcement that have been going on recently in our country.
Please notify as many friends, relative, co-workers, etc. as possible. Use Facebook, twitter, email, phone, etc.

We support our law enforcement officers.
Thank you to the police, sheriffs, firemen and women.
Thank you to the men and women in the police, sheriff and fire departments.
We appreciate your commitment to keep our community safe.
