Northbound I-35 Main Lanes To Close Near US 183 For Overhead Sign Removal

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Transportation will temporarily close the northbound I-35 mainlanes and reduce the southbound mainlanes to two lanes between Rundberg Lane and US 183 Monday night, Dec. 2, to remove an overhead sign bridge and set high mast lighting poles, weather permitting.

Starting at 10 PM on Monday, northbound I-35 mainlanes will fully close to traffic and southbound I-35 mainlanes will be reduced to two lanes from US 183 to Rundberg Lane.

Northbound traffic will be detoured to the frontage road at Rundberg Lane exit (241) and can re-enter the mainlanes at the next entrance ramp before Rundberg Lane.

Those traveling southbound on I-35 will experience lane reductions and one rolling lane closure between 10 PM and 1 AM.  All lanes will reopen to traffic as work is completed, but no later than 5 AM.

Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, as delays are expected.

Road signs have been placed to alert drivers of the upcoming closures. TxDOT asks the traveling public to be patient and remain aware when traveling through the work zone.
