While construction is tough on everyone, TxDOT is trying to do
everything they can to minimize disruptions.
I-35 LANE CLOSURES
TUESDAY 5/29 – FRIDAY 6/1
I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, as well as the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek.
New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 mainlanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

- Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane and right turn lane closed at Stassney Ln. | 9 AM until 3 PM Tuesday, May 29 through Wednesday, May 30
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Stassney Ln. and SH 71 exit. | 9 AM until 3 PM Tuesday, May 29 through Wednesday, May 30
- Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Stassney Ln. and Williamson Creek. | 9 AM until 3 PM Tuesday, May 29 through Friday, June 1
- Expect I-35 frontage road closures in both directions across William Cannon Dr. | 9 AM until 3 PM (Southbound) Tuesday, May 29 through Friday, June 1
- Expect I-35 frontage road closures in both directions across William Cannon Dr. (Northbound). | 8 PM until 5 AM Tuesday, May 29 through Thursday, May 31

I-35 AT OLTORF ST.
PROJECT OVERVIEW | Improvements include the reconstruction of the Oltorf Street bridge, improving entrance/exit ramps and frontage roads, constructing new extended entrance/exit lanes for mainlanes and ramps, and adding U-turns in both directions at Oltorf Street.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements will also be made along the I-35 frontage roads in each direction within the project limits.

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LN. TO US 290 EAST
PROJECT OVERVIEW | This project includes main-lanes and frontage road reconstruction and the addition of three new flyovers at US 183.
The project also includes reconstruction of the St. Johns Avenue Bridge, the addition of frontage road U-turns on both sides, intersection bypass lanes under St. Johns Avenue in both directions, extended entrance/exit lanes, and ramp and shoulder improvements.

- Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed as needed between St. Johns Ave. and Huntland Dr. | 9 AM until 3 PM weekdays only through June 5th
- Southbound I-35 left lane closed between US 183 and US 290 E. | 9 PM until 5 AM Tuesday, May 29 through Thursday, May 31
- Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Huntland Dr. and US 290 E. | 9 PM until 5 AM Tuesday, May 29 through Thursday, May 31
- Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Delmar Ave. and Blackson Ave. | 9 AM until 3 PM Wednesday, May 30 through Friday, June 1
- Powell Ln. closed at I-35. Detour via Wonsley Dr. | 9 PM until 5:30 AM through August 30

I–35 FROM US 79 TO SH 45 NORTH
PROJECT OVERVIEW | New braided ramps (where one ramp crosses over the other) are being constructed along the northbound I-35 mainlanes between Hester’s Crossing and RM 620 to eliminate merging conflicts.
The northbound and southbound intersections of US 79 and the I-35 frontage roads are also being reconstructed to add a third left-turn for westbound US 79.

- Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Gattis School Rd. and RM 620. | 8 AM until 3 PM Tuesday, May 29 through Friday, June 1
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Bellview Ave. and RM 620. | 8 PM until 5 AM Thursday, May 31
- McNeil Rd. closed under I-35. | 8 PM until 5 AM Thursday, May 31 through Friday, June 1

I-35 TO FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd)
PROJECT OVERVIEW | The intersection of FM 3406 and the I-35 frontage roads are being improved, and the FM 3406 bridge over I-35 is being reconstructed.
The FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd) bridge will close to eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic will detour to the newly constructed U-turn Bridge. | Until summer 2018, weather permitting.
