TxDOT, My I35 and Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority’s Weekly I35 Corridor Traffic and Road Construction Update.

While construction is tough on everyone, TxDOT is trying to do
everything they can to minimize disruptions.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | Two ramps on the southbound I-35 frontage roads between RM 1431 and FM 3406 are being reconstructed and reversed to address traffic congestion and improve I-35 frontage road and mainlane operations.

Closures are weather permitting
- Southbound I-35 exit ramp to FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd) closed. Use the southbound RM 1431 exit ramp and utilize the bypass lane to reach FM 3406. | Until March 2018, weather permitting.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | New braided ramps (where one ramp crosses over the other) are being constructed along the northbound I-35 mainlanes between Hester’s Crossing and RM 620 to eliminate merging conflicts.
The northbound and southbound intersections of US 79 and the I-35 frontage roads are also being reconstructed to add a third left-turn for westbound US 79.

- Northbound I-35 right lane closed between Hesters Crossing & the next entrance ramp. |9 PM, Tuesday, January 16 to 5 AM, Wednesday, January 17.
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Gattis School Rd & McNeil Rd. | From midnight to 5 PM, Wednesday, January 17.
- McNeil Rd left turn lane in both directions under I-35 closed. | 8 PM Tuesday, January 16 to 5 PM, Wednesday, January 17.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | The intersection of FM 3406 and the I-35 frontage roads are being improved, and the FM 3406 bridge over I-35 is being reconstructed.

Closures are weather permitting
- The FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd) bridge closed to eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic will detour to the newly constructed U-turn bridge. | Until summer 2018, weather permitting.
- Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane under FM 3406. | Nightly from 9 PM, until 5 PM, Sunday, January 14 through Thursday, January 18.
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed approaching FM 3406. | 8 PM, Thursday, January 18 to 5 AM, Friday, January 19.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, as well as the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek.
New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 mainlanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

- Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Battle Bend Rd & Williamson Creek. | Daily from 9 AM until 3 PM, Monday, January 15 through Friday, January 19.
- Southbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Stassney Ln & William Cannon Dr. | Daily from 9 AM until 3 PM, Monday, January 15 through Friday, January 19.
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed at Slaughter Ln. | Nightly from 8 PM, until 5 AM, Sunday, January 14 through Tuesday, January 16.
- Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Teri Ln & exit 231 to US 290/SH 71. | Daily from 9 AM, until 3 PM, Monday, January 15 through Friday, January 19.
- Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Boggy Creek & William Cannon Dr. | Daily from 9 AM, until 3 PM, Monday, January 15 through Friday, January 19.
- Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between William Cannon Dr & Slaughter Ln. | From 9 AM, until 3 PM, Saturday, January 13.
- I-35 left lane closed in both directions at Stassney Ln. | Nightly from 10 PM, until 5 AM, Sunday, January 14 through Tuesday, January 16.
- Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane at Stassney Ln. The entrance ramp from William Cannon will also close. | From 9 PM, until 5 AM, Wednesday, January 17 & Thursday, January 18.
- Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between Williamson Creek & Stassney Ln. | Daily from 9 AM, until 3 PM, Wednesday, January 17 through Friday, January 19.
- Stassney Ln closed in both directions at I-35. Detour via US 290/SH 71 & William Cannon Dr. | 9 PM, Wednesday, January 17 to 5 PM, Thursday, January 18.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | Improvements include the reconstruction of the Oltorf Street bridge, improving entrance/exit ramps and frontage roads, constructing new extended entrance/exit lanes for mainlanes and ramps, and adding U-turns in both directions at Oltorf Street.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements will also be made along the I-35 frontage roads in each direction within the project limits.

- Various closures northbound I-35 frontage road near Royal Hill Ln. | Nightly from 8 PM, until 5 AM, Monday, January 15 through Thursday, January 18.
- I-35 frontage road right lane closed in both directions between Woodward St & Oltorf St. Watch for flaggers. | Daily from 9 AM, until 5 PM, Monday, January 15 through Friday, January 19.
- Northbound I-35 right lane closed between Woodward St & the next entrance ramp. The northbound Oltorf St exit will also close. | From 9 PM, until 5 AM, Wednesday, January 17 & Thursday, January 18.
