Artist Jeffrey Dell opened his highly anticipated art gallery for two months. The event is free and open to the public. Dell’s work is displayed at Aquabrew’s facility, which is open to the public during normal business hours from March 1 to April 30, 2018.

Dell, a professor in the School of Art and Design, pushes beyond boundaries with his use of space, color, light and shadow and the real from fiction.

Jeff Dell’s work is perhaps best known for his cascading, twist, topple and loop depicted in his candy-colored ribbons of art.

Partnering with Aquabrew, Dell will showcase eight selected pieces of work that exemplifies the way he finds new and interesting ways in showing the flat and the dimensional in the same perspective.

Full of pop colors and slick vanish coatings, the prints appear to follow an association of muscle cars and low riders—all while quoting Pop Art iconography like Thiebaud’s cakes and historical art styles like Trompe L’oeil.

Aquabrew’s art curator, Adriana “Gigi” Mederos, said she is thrilled to showcase Dell’s extravagant art work to the public.

Mederos has been organizing art shows since 2017 focusing on a large summer event honoring an artist or an art movement.

Dell was not available for comment or an interview to talk about the collection.

This annual celebration will pay homage to Surrealism, in July. Aquabrew will host the closing reception on Thursday, April 26th from 6-8 PM.
