Hays County reports four COVID-related fatalities as active cases continue to rise

Hays County Courthouse, TX – Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) reports four COVID-related fatalities a man from Buda in his 60s, a man from Dripping Springs in his 90s, a man from Kyle in his 30s, a man from Wimberley in his 70s. 

The department also reports 209 new lab-confirmed cases along with seven (7) new hospitalizations and five (5) new hospital discharges. There are 38 additional persons considered recovered. The total number of persons considered recovered is 19,308. The current total of lab-confirmed cases for Hays County since the beginning of the pandemic is 21,175. Hays County has 1,592 active cases. In the past 21 days there have been 1,832 active cases. Hays County has had 1,012 total COVID-related hospitalizations and 46 people are currently hospitalized.

  • August 6, 7 and 8 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Pfizer vaccine @ 3943 I-35 San Marcos Premium Outlets (Previously Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5th); next to James Avery; across parking lot from Victoria’s Secret. 
  • Monday-Friday, Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines @ Live Oak Community Clinic, 401 Broadway, San Marcos, 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-4:30 p.m. 
  • Every Thursday and Friday – Pfizer vaccine @ CommuniCare, 2810 Dacy Ln., Kyle, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
