NEW UPDATE: Hays School District Statement
New Update: Correction to our previous email. Parents are asked not to travel to pick up students at this time because road conditions in the area are hazardous and congested.
Dear Parents, Students, and Staff,
Hays CISD will do a regular dismissal today and busses will run on the regular schedule. Some bus service will be disrupted because the buses will not go through low water crossings with water covering the roadways. All students and staff are safe in our schools at this time. Parents who wish to pick up their students early, may do so if it is safe for you to travel. Please be careful! Road conditions in the area are hazardous and congested.
We held our morning pre-K students in class during their normal dismissal time. Morning pre-K students will be transported home on the afternoon pre-K buses unless parents wish to pick up their students early.
All afterschool activities are cancelled for tonight. We will post information about the rescheduling of the Hays HS football game once we know when it will be played.
Thank you all for your patience and understanding. Safety is always priority one and we respect your decisions regarding your family’s personal safety during inclement weather events.

BREAKING: Hays School District Statement
All High Schools are delayed until 10:00 a.m. The buildings are open if people are already on the way, but students can wait come if they wish. We are asking all parents to be careful. We will not count students tardy today.
All buses have been released from their campuses to resume normal routes. Earlier, they were routed to the nearest campuses so that students could take shelter in the event it was necessary while the tornado warning was in effect.
