Men’s Basketball Announces 2017-18 Non-Conference Schedule

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Coming off a 22-win campaign, Texas State men’s basketball head coach Danny Kaspar announced the non-conference portion of the 2017-18 season Tuesday afternoon. The slate features 14 games with six taking place in Strahan Coliseum, including an exhibition contest.

“We are excited about our non-conference schedule that features a good mixture of home and away games,” said Kaspar. “It is a schedule that will test us on the road yet provide us an opportunity to succeed. We look forward to competing these schools before conference play.”

Before the regular season begins, the Bobcats will prepare with an exhibition game at home on November 4 against Division II program St. Mary’s.

A trip to the state of Colorado starts off the regular season with Texas State taking on Air Force on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 3 p.m. CT. It is the first of four games of the Men Against Breast Cancer Showcase for the Bobcats.

Texas State returns to San Marcos for two straight games. First up is I-35 rival UTSA on the 15th followed three days later with a matchup against UT Rio Grande Valley.

Over the Thanksgiving holiday, the Bobcats make a trip to Northern California for the last three games of the Men Against Breast Cancer Showcase.

All three contests will be played in the Alex G. Spanos Center on the campus of the University of the Pacific beginning with Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Nov. 22.

After celebrating Thanksgiving, Texas State faces Canisius on the 24th and concluded the trip against the host Tigers the next day.

The Bobcats close out the month of November at home on the 29th with a 7 p.m. matchup against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

December begins with a trip to Houston Baptist on the 2nd before the team returns to Strahan Coliseum for a game against McMurry four days later. Texas State hits the road to take on Abilene Christian on the 9th for the last game before final exams.

After taking their finals, the Bobcats return to Colorado to face Colorado State on the 17th. Just two days later Texas State returns to Strahan Coliseum for its final non-conference home game of the year against Ecclesia College. The non-conference slate concludes with a trip to Houston on the 22nd to face Rice.

Season tickets for 2017-18 Texas State basketball are on sale now. Season tickets, which gain admission to both men’s and women’s individual contests along with doubleheaders, start as low as $99 for general admission seating. 

Reserved season tickets are $130 with special discounts for Bobcat Club donors, recent alumni (2013-17) and T-Association donors. Floor seats are $400 and interested parties should contact the Athletic Ticket Office to be placed on the waiting list. Season ticket payment plans are available.

Single game tickets will go on sale to the general public on Tues., Oct. 24 at 9 a.m.
