TxDOT, My I35 and Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority’s Weekly Corridor Traffic and Road Construction Update for the IH-35 Corridor
TxDOT knows you’ve got to get where you need to go.
While construction is tough on everyone, TxDOT is trying to do everything they can to minimize disruptions.

PROJECT OVERVIEW | I-35 Mainlanes and FM 3406 Bridge to Close for Bridge Demolition; Long-term Detour for FM 3406 Bridge.
The FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd.) bridge will be closed for widening and reconstruction for approximately 10 months.
• THIS WEEK’S PROJECT TRAFFIC ADVISORY •
Closures are weather permitting.
- The FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd) bridge closed to eastbound traffic. Westbound traffic will detour to the newly constructed U-turn Bridge. | Until summer 2018, weather permitting
- Southbound exit ramp to FM 3406 (Old Settlers Blvd) closed. Use the southbound RM 1431 exit ramp and use the bypass lane to reach FM 3406. | Until March 2018, weather permitting

PROJECT OVERVIEW | New braided ramps (where one ramp crosses over the other) are being constructed along the northbound I-35 mainlanes between Hester’s Crossing and RM 620 to eliminate merging conflicts.
The northbound and southbound intersections of US 79 and the I-35 frontage roads are also being reconstructed to add a third left-turn for westbound US 79.

- Various double closures in both directions including ramps between RM 620 & Westinghouse Rd. | Nightly from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, December 4 through Thursday, December 7
- Various closures in both directions under I-35 at US 79. | Nightly from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, December 5 through Thursday, December 7
- U-turns at I-35 & US 79 closed in both directions. | Nightly from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. Tuesday, December 5 through Thursday, December 7

PROJECT OVERVIEW | Improvements include the reconstruction of the Oltorf Street bridge, improving entrance/exit ramps and frontage roads, constructing new extended entrance/exit lanes for mainlanes and ramps, and adding U-turns in both directions at Oltorf Street.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements will also be made along the I-35 frontage roads in each direction within the project limits.

- I-35 frontage roads reduced to one lane in both directions between Woodward St & Oltorf St. | Daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, December 4 through Friday, December 8
- Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed at Oltorf St. | 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 5 to 5 a.m. Wednesday, December 6

PROJECT OVERVIEW| The project will reconstruct the bridge structures at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, as well as the frontage road bridge over Williamson Creek.
New U-turn bridges will be added in both directions at Stassney Lane and William Cannon Drive, and the I-35 mainlanes will be widened to incorporate shoulders and extended entrance/exit lanes to allow for better merging.
Bicycle and pedestrian enhancements are also being made, and new safety lighting is being installed.

- Northbound I-35 right lane closed between Slaughter Ln & William Cannon Dr. Ramps will close as needed. | Nightly from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. Sunday, December 3 through Thursday, December 7
- Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed between Slaughter Ln & William Cannon Dr. | Daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, December 4 through Friday, December 8
- Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed between William Cannon Dr entrance ramp & Slaughter Ln. | Daily from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Monday, December 4 through Friday, December 8
- Westbound William Cannon Dr right lane closed across I-35. | Daily from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday, December 4 through Friday, December 8

PROJECT OVERVIEW | Work includes adding a southbound intersection bypass lane to allow through-traffic to bypass the traffic signal, re-configuring the entrance/exit ramps, and realigning the southbound frontage road to add a new roundabout that improves traffic flow and safety.
